Protest for Ukraine

In February of 2022 Vladimir Putin ordered the Russian army to begin a blatantly illegal, imperial, and genocidal war against Ukraine. Russian troops stormed over the border, and although the Ukrainian defenders seemed hopeless from the outside, the nation held strong. Ukraine has held on for years, and although has lost land, they have held most key cities and shown the world their resilience and spirit. However, since the onset of the invasion hundreds of thousands have been killed or wounded, and millions displaced. For a time the United States, Europe, and other nations stood behind Ukraine in their defense against the fascist invasion, however this changed with the election of Trump. President Trump, ever the fascist-lover, has moved away from aiding Ukrainians in their defense, pulling aid and attempting to force a blatantly pro-Russia peace deal. In early March people in Charlottesville gathered outside the federal courthouse off the downtown mall to protest Trump, and stand in solidarity with the Ukrainian people. There can be no doubt, the war in Ukraine is one of the great struggles of our time, and all those who stand for freedom must call for aiding Ukraine.
